How this password generator works

Every password is built from your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator, not a predictable pseudo-random one. Pick a length between 8 and 64 characters and choose which character sets to include — uppercase, numbers, and symbols are all optional so you can match whatever a site's password rules require. Nothing you generate here is sent anywhere or logged; the password only ever exists in your browser tab.

Longer is stronger: each extra character multiplies the number of guesses an attacker needs, so a 16-character password is astronomically harder to brute-force than a 10-character one, even with the same character set. If you'd rather have something readable, switch to Memorable mode for a passphrase built from random dictionary words instead.

How many characters should a password be?+

12 characters is the practical minimum today; 16 or more is better for anything sensitive like email, banking, or your password manager's master password. The length slider here goes up to 64 for accounts that support long passwords.

Are these passwords actually random?+

Yes — generation uses the Web Crypto API's cryptographically secure random number generator, the same class of randomness used in security software, not Math.random() or another predictable source.

Do you store or see the passwords I generate?+

No. There are no accounts, no database, and no logging on this site. Each password is generated and shown only in your browser.
